SARAH STEVENSON Powers North Hants to Victory

BRITISH Olympic Taekwondo Player, SARAH STEVENSON and Team GB male counterpart, Steven Jennings, spent the afternoon in Winchester coaching Hampshire pupils in Taekwondo skills, culminating in the HAMPSHIRE SCHOOLS TAEKWONDO CUP.

Teams of two boys and two girls from Hampshire Schools NORTH and SOUTH hotly contested the inaugural county prize, with bragging rights for 2005 going to NORTH Hampshire.

Player of the day was Jamie from Oak Farm, Farnborough, edging Ashley of Henry Beaufort, Winchester in the final game to secure the 4-0 North Hants win.

Both boys showed incredible poise and skill despite only recently being introduced to Taekwondo in P.E. at their respective Schools.

The girls matched the boys in terms of excitement, highlighted in Kirsty Brennan's (College, Eastleigh) bout with Cat (Woodlands, Southampton.) Kirsty's firepower eventually dominated Cat's skilful movement in the most balanced game of the day.
