Spitfire Taekwondo Academy (STA) is an amalgam
of WTF clubs from across Hampshire, with its spiritual roots in Eastleigh,
Winchester & Southampton.
It's these roots that lend the name to the Academy:
the Spitfire Plane also sharing it's spiritual home with the area,
making its maiden flight out of Eastleigh airport to Winchester, and
being built in Woolston in Southampton.
Taekwondo represents a diverse range of skills and applications, and
STA covers these bases to all age groups. We are proud of our Instructor
experience and skill base:

Local “bad boy” Luke has accelerated into international A-class competition in a mind-boggling short period of time since joining Spitfire in 2003 as a blue belt.
Luke’s disciplined teaching style is a mirror of his own dedication to taekwondo training; a superb example to the young athletes in Spitfire. |

Sheena brings an unparalleled enthusiasm and electricity to wherever she is training or teaching. She also kicks like a man twice her size. |

Terrence is an exceptional young martial artist, instructing at Winchester
and his own college club.

Hailing from Nottingham, Mark joined Spitfire as a senior partner and instructor in 2005. Mark brings a thoroughbred pedigree, clocking up an impressive 200+ competitive WTF bouts during his career in the 80’s and 90’s. Mark has worked in private security for over 15 years, recently taking on the more intimidating arena of the classroom as a secondary school teacher.
Mark is the senior instructor in the north Hampshire area, and brings strength of character tinged with the driest of wit to Spitfire. |
