Sarah came to Spitfire with a friend, and spent a good year learning the basics, before trying her hand at competing. Sarah was soon hooked, and with a number of impressive perfomances at novice and intermdiate level she took the plunge into A-Class. Sarah first international was in Paris 2007:
"It was mad - to be in Paris competing in the same arena as my heroes like Sarah Stevenson was amazing. I lost my first game to Norway National Team which was just another level - it made me realise that this is what I want to do - I want to win."
Sarah impressed again at the British Nationals and Belgium Open, where she just lost out on a medal place against Czech Republic National team. The rise of Stoxsie continues. |

Luke is perhaps the most formidable figher to have come through the ranks of Spitfire so far. With A-Class results and a string of european competitions from Austria to Holland behind him, Luke is typically matter-of-fact about each encounter, "I just take one match at a time and play MY game." Luke's sister Sian, dad Graham and uncle David are all blackbelts at Spitfire. |

Lucy again came to Spitfire with a friend, and began competing at intermediate level. Very soon, Lucy was kicking above her weight, and took to international competition almost too early, but try telling her that: "I am, and have been focussed on taekwondo - it's religous to me." Lucy took her year out of her Sports Science degree training in Belgium. "I had full time facilites with one of Alex's friends, and proximity to much more A-class competition than in the UK which is vital to my progress through the elite ranks." Lucy won a silver medal at the Swedish A-Class Open ealier in 2008 showing she is on track to reach her goals! |
